MARK HANLON

is an American film director, screenwriter and documentarian. A national Emmy nominee, Webby Honoree, and CASE Circle of Excellence Gold Award recipient, his work has been released theatrically, appeared on most major broadcast networks worldwide and digitally in publications including The New York Times, The Washington Post and The Wall Street Journal, and has premiered at a variety of international film festivals including Venice, Toronto and SXSW.

He wrote and directed the feature film Buddy Boy. Starring Aidan Gillen and Emmanuelle Seigner, it was released by Fine Line Features. His screenplay Chimera became the Joel Silver and Robert Zemeckis-produced Ghost Ship. Released by Warner Bros. Pictures, it stars Gabriel Byrne and Julianna Margulies. He has adapted numerous popular and acclaimed novels for the screen, including the Harry Crews cult favorite The Knockout Artist for producers Sean Penn and Joni Sighvatsson, and has made numerous documentary profiles, broadcast commercials and digital films for policy advocacy and initiative campaigns in the areas of scientific research, health care and education.
